General

Who is Forgewell Cookware for?

For anyone who cooks with care and intention, from home cooks making dinner every night to enthusiasts who like to push a pan. If you have ever been annoyed by cookware that did not last, this was built for you.

What exactly is Forgewell Cookware?

Cookware made from solid, uncoated grade 1 titanium, hand hammered for a naturally releasing surface. It was designed by a chef who could not find a pan that survived a professional kitchen, and it is made using a Japanese hammering technique that has been around far longer than nonstick coatings. You can read the whole story on our about page.

Where are you based?

Forgewell Cookware is based at Kralingseweg 266, 3066 RA Rotterdam, The Netherlands, and ships from there to our markets worldwide.

Product and materials

What makes your pans different from regular nonstick?

Traditional nonstick pans rely on a chemical coating, usually PTFE, better known as Teflon, sprayed onto aluminium. That coating wears out. Our pans are solid titanium with no coating at all. The release comes from the hand hammered texture of the metal itself, and it actually improves with use.

Are the pans really safe to use?

Yes. Titanium is biocompatible. It is the same class of material used in medical implants. There are zero chemicals, no PFAS, no PFOA and no synthetic coatings. Just pure metal.

Can I use metal utensils?

Yes. Titanium is exceptionally hard and scratch resistant, so metal spatulas, spoons, tongs and whisks are all fine. There is no coating to cut through.

Which heat sources are compatible?

All of them: induction, gas, electric, ceramic and halogen. Our pans are also oven safe up to 260 °C (500 °F).

Do I need to season the pan?

Not in the cast iron sense, but a light wipe of oil over gentle heat before first use helps. The surface then improves naturally the more you cook with it.

Why does food stick the first few times?

Titanium wants a preheated pan and a little fat. Heat the pan on medium for a minute or two before adding oil, then add your food. Cooking on a cold pan or on maximum heat is the usual cause of sticking. Our guides walk through it.

Care and warranty

Is it dishwasher safe?

Technically yes, but we recommend hand washing with warm soapy water for the best long term result. Two minutes at the sink keeps the surface at its best for decades.

How do I remove stuck on residue?

Soak in warm water for ten minutes, then use a non abrasive sponge. For stubborn marks a paste of baking soda and water works well. Never use oven cleaner or steel wool with harsh chemicals.

How does the 25 year warranty work?

We stand behind our craftsmanship with a 25 year warranty covering manufacturing defects. If something goes wrong because of materials or workmanship, we repair or replace it. Send your order number and a photo to info@forgewellcookware.com. Normal wear, misuse, overheating and accidental damage are not covered.
