Short Product Lifespan
Nonstick pans last only two to three years. The coating breaks down at high heat, can release harmful chemicals, and eventually peels, so you replace them again and again.

A 18.5 cm chef knife in hammered stainless steel. Stainless is the low maintenance choice: it does not spot if you leave it on the board for a minute, and it does not care about tomatoes or lemon.
Hammered stainless steel, 18.5 cm, uncoated and free of chemical treatment. The hammered face reduces how much blade is touching what you cut, so slices release rather than stacking up against the side.
Smooth and ergonomic, balanced so the knife moves with your hand instead of being carried by it.
Hand wash and dry. Stainless is forgiving but a dishwasher will still take the edge off it.

The problem
Most pans are designed to fail, forcing you into an endless cycle of replacement.
Nonstick pans last only two to three years. The coating breaks down at high heat, can release harmful chemicals, and eventually peels, so you replace them again and again.
Other pans get damaged quickly by everyday cooking utensils. Spatulas and tongs scratch the surface, so the nonstick coating wears down faster and performance drops.
Standard nonstick and ceramic pans create hot spots and cold zones, making consistent, professional-quality results impossible.

FAQ
Everything you need to know about Okura titanium cookware.
A regular nonstick pan is aluminium with a chemical coating sprayed over it, and that coating is the part that wears out. Okura uses a solid titanium cooking surface, so there is no layer to scratch, peel or degrade. The pan you use in year ten is the same pan you unboxed.
Yes. There is no PFAS, PFOA or PTFE anywhere in the pan, because there is no coating at all. Nothing can leach into your food from a surface that was never sprayed on.
You can. Metal spatulas, tongs and whisks are all fine. This is the practical difference a solid surface makes: there is nothing on top to cut through.
Gas, induction, electric, ceramic, the oven and an open fire. The bonded base works on every hob type, and the pan has no handle part or coating that keeps it out of the oven.
Fully. A dishwasher is what destroys a coated pan over time; titanium does not care. Hand washing is quicker for a single pan, but it is not required.
Every Okura pan carries a 25-year warranty against defects in material and workmanship. If something goes wrong that should not have, contact us with your order number and we replace the pan.
Heavier than a thin nonstick pan and lighter than cast iron. The weight comes from the bonded base, which is also what keeps the heat even from the centre to the edge.
No seasoning, no ritual. Heat the pan first, add a little fat, then add the food. That is the whole technique, and it is the same one that works on a stainless pan.
